St. John Ambulance Association, the symbol of dedication & devotion, owes its strength from the vigour & energy of perfect soul. It is an International Organisation; people of all over the world carry its Flag on their own shoulder. But we the inhabitants of Barasat had to wait till 1979 when some of the young people under the leadership of Sri Samar Kumar Das started thinking of giving birth of a new centre of St. John Ambulance at Barasat. These Samaritans worked together, made several meetings amongst themselves, took the help of great citizens of the locality and ultimately were able to involve Govt. Administration .Finally the red letter day of this branch was in 1979 when the Foundation ceremony was held at the auditorium at Barasat Govt. College
